Military-grade AES-256 encryption

Encryptio uses AES-256 encryption, the same standard used by banks, governments, and military organizations. Your passwords are encrypted directly on your device using a Zero-Knowledge.

Exported files contain unencrypted passwords. Keep them in a safe place, delete files after use, and use secure connections for downloading.

Even in the event of a server breach, your data remains completely inaccessible thanks to end-to-end encryption.

Encryptio offers two distinct types of backup:

System backup

Managed at infrastructure level: full database backup and per-user backup. Available for all users (Starter and Premium). Ensures redundancy and recovery in case of failure.

Application backup

Premium only: create, restore and delete backups of your data from Profile → Backup. Encrypted backups, automatic after login and password change, and manual when you want.

You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete account. The operation is irreversible: all data (passwords, notes, backups) will be deleted.

Export your data before proceeding if you want to keep it. After deletion nothing can be recovered.

Deletion is your right (GDPR, right to erasure). No reason is required.

You can share credentials (password + username/URL) with other Encryptio users securely. Sharing uses RSA encryption: only the recipient can decrypt; data is never sent in the clear.

  • From the Password menu: select a password and choose "Share". Enter the recipient's email (they must have an Encryptio account).
  • The recipient gets a notification and can accept the share; credentials appear under "Secure sharing → Shared with me".
  • You can revoke the share at any time; the recipient can remove it from their list.

Go to Secure sharing (from the Account menu, after logging in).

The Encryptio extension lets you access your vault and use autofill directly from the browser. Installation depends on the browser you use:

  • Google Chrome
    Go to the extension page in the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome". Confirm the installation.
  • Mozilla Firefox
    Click "Add to Firefox" on the extension page at addons.mozilla.org. Accept the required permissions.
  • Microsoft Edge
    Open the extension page in Microsoft Edge Add-ons and click "Get" to install it.

Go to installation page (choose your browser and follow the store link). After installing, log in at encryptio.it: the extension will connect to your account.
