We do not try to copy every feature of the larger managers, especially on mobile apps. Choose Encryptio if you care where the data lives (Italy), if you want a digital legacy grant to a contact who has no account, and if you also need encrypted file sharing. AES-256 and a browser extension alone are not the differentiator: the European product and those features together are.

Yes. The Starter plan is free forever: up to 15 passwords, AES-256 encryption, 2FA, secure sharing and Digital Legacy. No card required.

At rest the vault is encrypted in Postgres without the master key. At login the key is derived from the password and held for the session, so the site and the extension can work. Without the password or recovery key, a database copy is not enough. Details are in the whitepaper.

Yes. You can switch from Premium to the free plan at any time. Your data stays safe; if you exceed the free limit you can remove the excess or reactivate Premium.

If you enable the inactivity trigger, a grace phase starts after the configured days. If you do not become active again before expiry, the top-priority contact receives time-limited read-only access without further owner actions.
